Today I am featuring my favourite song inspired by my book. GONE.
I wrote most of Gone the day I left a job. At the time, Someone’s Story was almost done, going through final edits. This is why Gone has no lyrics in the book. At the time of publishing, the lyrics weren’t flushed out yet. It was all just a rough concept.
From there I spent months working with Gus Reeves cleaning up the lyrics and finding ways to make it come together. While Gus did the heavy lifting on the final recording, I was researching how to self-publish and market a book. Frankly, this tour and platform exist in part due to Gus taking some weight off of me and freeing myself up for a crash course on what I should do to get my book out.
At the end of the day, we have something I really love. Part Nutshell. Part Creep. Part Welcome to the Black Parade…and totally Someone’s Story. My favourite song from this collection. Plus, once you have read the book, the song is even better. Rounds out the experience and makes that amazing ending even more inspirational.
Next up something ultra-sleek. A chapter read with comic book inspired drawings!

I brought one of my Kevin chapters to life. Pretty neat to see what has been bouncing around in my head for a couple of years coming to life. I decided to go with this chapter because it is powerful. In 3 pages and 3 minutes, it tells a little mini-story! We get to see Kevin. We get to see that Electric Yellow. We get to see pain…but more than anything, we see him get up and keep going!

Stay tuned for Sunday. A Pulse tease is coming…and it involves new music!!!
Keep those minds sharp and happy reading!
